|
Johnny is married to Evonne and together they are proud parents to Harry and Sam. As pastor Johnny loves to be a companion to people who are on a journey of responding to Jesus’ invitation to follow him. What this looks like is conversing and praying with people and bringing the Word of God (the Bible). Not fixing problems but pointing to way markers and tell-tale signs of God’s presence and activity in their lives. Johnny loves spending time with his family and enjoying walks in the mountains. He is a keen reader and painter and loves to cook!

Hazel-Ann Pigott
(Church Administrator)

|
Everyone
|
Hazel Pigott serves as the Administrator at Swords Baptist Church. She has been doing this job for about 15 years with a break of a few years when her boys were very small. She is married to Neville and they have been blessed with two 'great lads' Noah and Toby. She loves that her job gives her the chance to be in regular contact with so many of the family at SBC, organising rotas, putting on events, writing newsletters and so much more. Hazel feels very privileged that her job has so much meaning and that's where she gets most of her job satisfaction as
she rarely gets to the end of her to do list. She looks forward to meeting you if you come and visit SBC which she hopes you do after you browse the website.

We believe everyone in the church has a role to play by using their gifts to serve the church. In Ephesians 4:11 & 12 we find the apostle Paul pointing out that Jesus gifted His church "apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to equip his people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up"
We want to see all people in the church helped and encouraged to discover, develop and exercise their gifts to minister "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God" (v. 13)

Tarsis was born and raised in Brazil, where he grew up in a Baptist church and developed a love for the Bible, music and church life from an early age. He moved to Ireland in 2014 and is married to Camila. Together they have three daughters.
Tarsis and his family began attending Swords Baptist Church in 2025 and quickly found in SBC a church family and a place where they could worship, grow and serve together. He has a particular love for preaching and teaching the Bible and for helping people see how the Christian faith speaks into ordinary life. Music has also been an important part of his journey with God, having served in the worship ministry from a young age in Brazil. Tarsis is also a writer, with a particular interest in family, parenthood, relationships and the different challenges faced by men and women through the various seasons of life. His writing often explores how faith shapes the way we love, raise our children, face difficulties and understand ourselves and one another. He is currently studying Theology and enjoys bringing together his love of Scripture, storytelling and everyday life. Outside church, he enjoys writing, music, cooking, a good barbecue and, most of all, spending time with friends, Camila and their girls.

|
Geoff, one of the overseers at Swords Baptist Church, has been married to Debbie for 42 years and they have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. In 1997 he recommitted his life to the Lord and has been on a journey since then as a disciple of Jesus, learning to live in the kingdom of God.
He has a heart for prison ministry and loves serving in the local church.
For downtime he enjoys reading, DIY projects, mountain biking and spending time with his loved ones, who live overseas.

Joanne Mahon has been a member of Swords Baptist Church for 25 years. Born in Vancouver, Canada, she became a follower of Jesus at 18 while attending a summer camp. Looking back, she recognizes how God was drawing her to Himself for many years before that time and remains amazed at how He deals with each person so uniquely. Her Christian journey had a rocky start, as she initially had no home church to guide her along. During the summer of 1979, Joanne travelled to Ireland on a summer mission with a group from her Bible college. It was during this time that she sensed God's guidance and felt a clear call to church planting in Ireland. She moved to Dublin in 1982 and hasn't looked back since. She married Laz Mahon, a Carlow man, in 1987. Today, she serves as the full-time carer for her husband, who faces numerous health challenges. God has given Joanne a deep love and passion for her local church family at Swords Baptist Church. She was employed by SBC for 10 years in pastoral care, a role where she felt she was doing exactly what she was born to do, which brought her great joy. She continues to share that same enduring passion for the church and is delighted to serve SBC as a servant.

Rob is one of the servants at Swords Baptist Church and currently serves as church treasurer. He has been married to Debi for 46 years. They have two children and four grandchildren. Having spent all their married life deeply involved in local churches, they are still excited about serving and helping churches grow in response to God’s Word.
Now that he’s retired (sort of), Rob’s enjoying the chance to spend a bit more time with Debi, as well as the grandchildren. For relaxation, he finds DIY, reading, socialising with family and friends and watching rugby hard to beat.
